History
In the 1960s UOW offered its first course in Psychology within the Faculty of Arts. By 1969 the Faculty had doubled in size and offered 100, 200 and 300 level programs. In 1973 the Faculty saw its first Honours program commence including a major expansion in staffing. By 2012 UOW offered Psychology courses in Singapore and a 4th year option of studying Honours.
In 2013 the University of Wollongong underwent a Faculty transition seeing eleven Faculties merge into five super Faculties offering a wide range of courses in the areas of Law, Humanities and the Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Medicine and Health, Engineering and Information Sciences, and Business. As a result, Psychology transitioned into the School of Psychology and sat within the Faculty of Social Sciences.
In 2020 the University of Wollongong approved a new faculty structure which saw the Faculty of Social Sciences become the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (ASSH).
ASSH), includes the schools of The Arts, English and Media; Education; Geography and Sustainable Communities; Health and Society; Humanities and Social Inquiry; Liberal Arts; Psychology and Early Start.
Facilities
The School of Psychology is situated within the wonderful landscaped Wollongong campus.
